- Curt Anderson will be giving a talk on his sorta stuff at ConSOLE 21 in Potsdam. (ConSOLE is a conFERENCE.)
- Tae Kim is graduating, which is reason enough to congratulate him. But there’s more: he has received a some kind of award for Outstanding Graduating Senior Fantastic Awesomeness (that might not be precisely the official name), one of only three people out of 1,700 to have reached the requisite level of Outstanding Graduating Senior Fantastic Awesomeness.
- Greg Johnson presented his work on Appalachian English at a variation workshop in the Netherlands. He made the amateur mistake of giving a syntax talk, though. Whoops. Happens to the best of us.
- Apparently, Adam (Original Adam, not Adam Ringo Liter) Gobeski has a new publication: an essay in a collection on Dr. Who. This is not a joke. Something about Daleks, probably. You know, ’exterminate, exterminate’. We should probably congratulate him for having a life outside of linguistics, and—obviously—ridicule him in equal measure.
In conclusion, congratulations, woo, go team, exterminate, exterminate, etc.
